  • In this past few weeks I really am starting to see that my baby is really starting to be a little boy.  He is doing more things by himself.  He will go to the bathroom completely by himself and wash his hands.
  • He loves to play with friends.  He really likes being around other people.....kids are better but any people will do.
  • Porter has such a vocabulary.  He tries out new and big words all the time.  Occasionally he gets them in his head with the wrong meaning....like he was telling us that his neighbor friend, Nora had surgery.....as he spoke, I decided that he actually meant she had an injury....I had a quite a time trying to convince him that I knew better what he did in regards to the subject.
  • He has been going to swimming lessons for a while and just finish his 1st session of Pike (which is the second preschool level). In this new level he has developed an unreasonable fear of the water that is just a little deeper than he can touch. We are trying to work through it, but it makes lessons pretty worthless.
  • Porter is adjusting really well to the split time between Steve and I.  With few exceptions, he is happy to roll with the schedule and accepts the transitions with little negative emotion.
  • His small motor skills are improving significantly in the past few months.  He wasn't very interested in tracing, drawing, or coloring in any sort of lines....but now, he really is starting to do well.
